WTF is going on and what is the best way to kill it? I've already blocked it at the firewall and have dumped all files C:/Program Files/avast! (Which should have been killed off during uninstall?). Looking further, my desktop has been making 30 requests/second to the following URLS: Today I came in, started reviewing some things on our router, and noticed a 4GB spike around 11:30PM originating and targeting my local desktop.

From all appearances, it did it's job and was uninstalled from staff machines. As part of the decommission, we used the enterprise uninstaller. Most multimedia file formats can be previewed before recovery, so make sure to take advantage of this feature to recover the correct file right on the first try. Go through the scan results and select the file that Avast deleted. Once they decided to end this program, we promptly dumped it and went another direction. Recover the lost file to a safe location. It was a local server hosted on our hardware running their enterprise software.

For the last two years my school has been running avast! free for education.
